Batman

Gotham on a chest: The Animated Series logo, the Classic bat, Vintage 60s, Wayne Industries and the Joker, on tees, oversized cuts and hoodies.

Batman has been redrawn in a dozen different registers, and the one people want on a chest is usually the one they grew up with. This collection is sorted that way: officially licensed Batman shirts, oversized tees and hoodies, grouped by which Batman you mean. The Animated Series holds the top of the range, with the classic logo, the vintage sixties bat and a run of Gotham villains behind it.

Batman: The Animated Series

The two best-selling designs on this page come from the same show. The Animated Series gave the character a flat, hard-edged mark that keeps its shape at any print size. The Animated Series Logo T-Shirt is the best-seller in the range and the oversized tee of the same mark is second, with the hoodie and sweatshirt carrying it into winter. The Animated Series Villains T-Shirt puts the rogues gallery on one chest, and also runs as an oversized tee and a hoodie. Batman The Animated Series and the Animated Vintage tee are the faded end of the same lineage.

The logo lineage

Outside the Animated Series, the range is largely a study of one shape. The Classic Logo T-Shirt is third here and the least fussy way in, also cut in kids sizes. The Vintage 60s Logo takes the mark back to the television era, the Bat Attack Logo is another take on it, and the Japanese Bat Logo is for people who would rather not announce a superhero. The plain Batman T-Shirt is fourth in the range, there is a Batman Wash Tee and a kids tee, and Wayne Industries is the quiet one: a company logo that funds the whole operation. Batman and Robin The Boy Wonder and Batgirl Heroine bring in the rest of the family, and there is a Batman Mug.

The Joker and the rogues

Gotham runs on its villains, so here they get designs rather than cameos. The Joker leads with Back In Town, also an oversized tee, and Arkham, with Arkham Asylum alongside it and a Batarang oversized tee. Batman and Joker puts the two on one shirt, and the Japanese treatment of the pair comes as a tee and a hoodie. The Riddler takes the last slot.

Fits and sizes

Standard tees are combed cotton in a regular fit, XS to 4XL. Oversized tees are 275gsm heavyweight with a boxy body and a dropped shoulder, so size down for a neater line. Hoodies and sweatshirts carry the same designs at winter weight. The rest of our licensed range is in Licensed Collabs.

FAQ

What is the best-selling Batman design? The Animated Series Logo T-Shirt takes it, and the oversized cut of the same logo is right behind it.
